The Irish and their ancestors have been making
spectacular jewellery since 2000 B.C.
Irish metalsmiths have been crafting collars, torques and
bangles in gold and silver since the Egyptians were building
pyramids. The magnificent antique neckpiece shown here, the
Gleninsheen Collar, was made circa 700 B.C. from a solid sheet
of pure gold.
